"Streak of Lightning evokes the vivid power of nature and is designed as a tribute to a quilt made by Emeline Gallup Smith around 1850 in Rhode Island (Down by the Old Mill Stream: Quilts in Rhode Island). I loved the resourceful fabric substitutions she made, and the resulting charm of the unexpected details felt subtle and just right. It’s a perfect example of “making do.” - Denyse Schmidt
