Quilting & Patchwork 101



Two-Session Class
In this introductory class you will learn the basics skills involved with quilt making, all while making a mini quilt for your wall!  (We super LOVE mini-quilts around here).  We will walk you through the basics of cutting fabric with a rotary cutter and ruler, using a quarter inch seam allowance, pressing, pin basting, quilting and binding.  We will tackle the infamous HST (half square triangle) and the quintessential quilt block...flying geese while making an 16" Swoon Block by Camille Roskelly (Swoon Sixteen).

A partial supply kit is included in the cost of this class (see below)

Other supplies you'll need, available at Crimson Tate:
– Fabric scissors
– Paper scissors
– Quilter's ruler
– Rotary cutter
– Straight pins
– Coordinating spool of thread
– Marking tool (chalk, pencil, etc)
– Paper + pen for notes

Materials Included:
Swoon Sixteen quilt pattern, (4) fat quarters, binding fabric, batting, (40) quilter's safety pins, and (10) wonder clips
Requirements:
Please be comfortable with threading your sewing machine, winding/loading a bobbin, and stitching with consistent seam allowances. Unsure if this class is right for you? Give us a call and we'll be happy to help you choose! For Quilting & Patchwork 101, please plan to bring your own sewing machine. Cancellation Policy: Please notify the store at least 72 hours in advance to receive a store credit for your class purchase. Unfortunately, we cannot offer any form if refund if we do not receive 72-hour notice.
